I302

Academic Success in the Digital University
August - December 2021

As part of the class I302, Academic Success in the Digital University, I developed a portfolio website to showcase my projects, both from this class and others and my extracurriciular experiences.

I learned how to edit HTML and CSS, and used Glitch to customize an HTML template and make it my own.

I also completed the following projects - read about them below.

Research Project

The purpose of my project was to study the shift of employee mental health in Asia during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I chose this topic because I wanted to see how different groups reacted differently in terms of emotional stability during this difficult time, especially as an essential worker coming from an Asian background in which mental helath is considered taboo. rom the information gathered from my sources, I can deduce that there is a negative shift in mental health amongst employees in the workforce within Asian countries due to a separate set of struggles they must face which differ from the United States and go beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. From this, I learned proper researching techniques and which databases to look to in order to find credible and useful information for any given project. I feel a new sense of confidence in researching effectively and I can use these resources I learned a lot more throughout my college experience.

Group Project

Our broad topic was technology in the workplace during COVID-19. Each individual member of the group has high levels of knowledge in the aspect they chose to concentrate on for their individual paper which will be incorporated into the group project as well. We as a group will use one another’s strengths in order to demonstrate a variety of methods in which technology evolved in the workplace during the COVID-19 pandemic whether that be through mental health, consumer behavior, accessibility, universal design, and government intervention.

Reflection Project

Similar to what I said in the individual project, summary I learned a lot about effectively conducting a research project and looking for proper solutions. With the help of the resources provided, I was able to understand the UT library resources as well and how to properly use the information cycle. I was content with the topic that I picked and found myself wanting to learn more about mental health of Asian employees during the pandemic.
